No tunnel
The child does not feel confined.

We spare our young patients the most difficult parts: the narrow tunnel, isolation, and general anaesthesia where it isn’t necessary. At APERTA, a child can look at their parent throughout the entire scan.
A 60 cm tunnel, noise levels of 100+ dB, the need to lie still for 20–40 minutes, and no parent in the room – that’s a lot even for an adult. For children under the age of 7, a conventional MRI often requires general anaesthesia, which adds risk, hospitalisation and cost. At APERTA, many 4–6-year-olds can be examined without anaesthesia.
