Ankle MRI
Diagnosis of injuries to tendons (Achilles), ligaments (ATFL) and osteochondral lesions (OCD of the talus). MRI for athletes and runners.
Indications for the examination
We perform this MRI scan for both routine and pre-operative diagnostic purposes. APERTA uses a high-field 1 Tesla open scanner (Philips Panorama HFO) — ideal for patients with claustrophobia, children and larger individuals.
Preparation and duration of the scan
- Duration: 25–45 minutes
- Contrast: optional with gadolinium
- Preparation: no need to fast (unless the scan is of the abdomen)
- Please remove: jewellery, hearing aids, glasses
- Referral: from a specialist (orthopaedic surgeon, neurologist, urologist, oncologist)
